He ranks alongside his friend and fellow singer, Ayinde Barrister and they’re among the most prominent Fuji musicians in the country.
Ayinla started recording for the Nigerian EMI in the year 1974 and eventually set up his own record label the Kollington Records. He released over 30 albums under the label in 5 years, and as the Fuji music industry was growing, he was getting a fairly huge market to sell his music to.

A new and equally public rivalry emerged in the mid-80s, but this time with waka star Queen Salawah Abeni. She exchanged bitter personal insults with Kollington over a series of album releases and counter-releases.
Ayinla has over 50 albums to his credit, and most of them have never been released outside the country.
