LETTER TO MY VAL
SHARE THIS POST:

On a day like this when people are talking about their partners, loved ones and showering gifts, love and attention, I’m here waiting for you. I stay at the mountain top like a famished eagle scouting for food at the valley. Yes, my val I know you are somewhere not reachable for me–the reason you are invisible.

I can picture your face shining in ambers of erotic passion. I see how the little doves in your mouth showcase their white. Every words you say framed my heart with love. I can say you are the cage and freedom. I’m lost in your world but you’re invisible. I can see how you carry our childlike branches carry leaves with joy and leaving their prints with them. My head still figures how we would meet. Where we would meet. What I would say.

Today is not vain for me, I’m keeping myself whole so when you arrive, you’ll find a man trying to be the best version of himself ’cause you deserve the best. Today, I might be singing lonely but I know forever will be short with you. To my val who makes a man tree of words with its roots drenched in unseen passion, I’m waiting for you to cross my path. Let us see how the sun shines brighter with you included in my day. How the moon has a picture of you in it because of your elegance. How the night wants to capture you to see your sleep. I’m waiting for our paths to cross so our craziness will mix like rum–intoxicating us and leaving the world speechless.

I am not saying it’s gonna be perfect but let’s our paths cross. On days like I’ll sing for you please don’t mind me when I go off-key. On other days, we’ll enjoy nature and how lucky I am. I’ll serve you every shades of me–chilled with thrill. I’ll show you how I carry you in my spirit. How your name completes every sentence I say. How your smile is what I wear like mascara on my face.

To my invisible val, you should know I’m here for real, for forever till we become ancestors and our smiles testimonies of our love. Evidence of friendship, companionship and all the colours of the rainbow that have passed through our faces.

To my invisible val, anywhere you are… I’m not in a hurry but today I just wished you were here to share a cup of wine, to share laughter, to share everything that makes us human, to share love & all that is within.

To my invisible val, like vines–my words and actions are entwined to show congruency of this love–always ready to creep to the apex of your heart, I’m here making myself ready.

Till that day you become visible.
