TO LOVE A KING IS NOT BAD, BUT TO BE LOVED BY A KING IS BETTER

WRITTEN BY AWO AMOSUN IFAKOREDE OLADOSU

knowing a king

Growing up I used to think that survival in the world depends on “whom you know”. But now I think differently. I don’t think life is so much about “whom you know” as much as it is about “who knows you”, it is one thing to know the president of America and another thing is the president to know you. We all know that which is good. But if the president knows you personally it would be a great privilege.

This is of course applies to any country president. The point is that there is power in having friends in high places, the purpose is not to encourage any corrupt practices. The idea being promoted is for collateral purposes. To have reputable people who know you and can vouch for you, the character is a form of wealth and can open doors of opportunities for you and not only does it give you certain privileges, it also makes you somewhat powerful, when you walk with lions, many animals will keep away from you, it is not to say to bribe your way to the top. You never need to sell your integrity to earn yourself a promotion. Be honoured

In Odu Ifa IROSUN IRETE and can be known as IROSUN OPINMI. In this Odu Ifa explains the significance of having friends in high places, Ifa explained better that if you have friends in high places and they know you in return, it opens a lot of opportunities for the person. As he says in Odu Ifa IROSUN OPINMIN.

Igi dá ẹyẹ tú nígbó
Adífáfún Ẹnitímomò
Èyí tí se ọmọ Àgbonmìrègún
Ẹbọ wọ́n ní kò se
Ògbọ́ ẹbọ ní bẹ̀ órúbọ
Ifá jẹ́kí ẹni tí momọ̀n kó mọ̀nmí
Ẹni tí momọ̀n Ọba ni

The tree falls the birds fly
This was Ifa message for Enitimomo (the one whom I know)
The child of Agbonmiregun
When he was wallowing in abject poverty
He was asked to offer ebo
He complied
Ifa let the person that I know should know me in return the person whom I know is a king.

Enitimomo was the child of Agbonmiregun he was finding it difficult to meet up with his mates, he wanted to farm, he could not get his own land to cultivate on, whereas he had friends that had hectares of land in different villages he went to meet them if he could get a portion of land to cultivate on, all his friends could not give him, he wanted the post of a high priest in his village, he went to meet his childhood friend that was the king of the village thinking he could use his influence as the king to put him on the post, he got denied of the post.

Babalawo

This made Enitimomo visit Babalawo to know what he could do to be successful in his life. The Awo told him that he knows friends in high places but all his so-called friends did not know him. it does not mean that they did not know him as their friend but they did not know him with their wealth, the Awo assured him that he would be successful in life that he needs to offer sacrifice, he complied, not too long after the sacrifice all his friends he had known for years that had failed to help him, they all came back to him for his assistance.

The spiritual aspect of this story is that when we seek for help from relatives or friends and we could not get their assistance, in most cases it might be attached to our own spiritual problems, before blaming people for not helping us, why don’t we consult to find out if we are the one having some spiritual problems. Ifa made it known to us that no human being on earth became successful without the help of another person, we all know that behind a successful man is a woman, not only “a woman” but friends family even strangers once you get to know each other. We all need to be helpful to one another.
