SOMETIMES, I AM SORRY IS ALL IT TAKES!
WRITTEN BY EMMANUEL IKOROMASOMA
WIFE:
I love, care and cherish my man,
But not the man he has become.
Used to love me before our marriage began
Now I feel so unwelcome, how come?
He treats me like rag,
nothing he should adore,
He used to come early but Now too late,
I get confused sometimes if we met before,
Yes we did, but everything changed to fate.
But that’s not my man, my man cherishes me,
He is so loving, caring and admirable,
Forever in his arms, I would want to be,
But his acts are so brut and unbelievable.
Still I love him, wish we confess our wrongs,
And cut off the hates on our tongues.
Sometimes I stare closely at the mirror,
With bruises on my face in deep horror,
Don’t I look beautiful anymore?
Or I do, but not just as before?
Please be honest, do I have a counterpart?
Nothing is more beautiful than a honest heart.
HUSBAND:
No, you don’t and I am sorry I made you sad,
Sorry i no longer feel comforting like snow,
Sorry I made you feel terribly bad and mad,
But there is something, you must know,
I want us to get back together
And settle our little clueless differences,
I think we would be so much better
If we stop making silly references.
Ya, I know a good man is hard to find,
But that depends on your definition of good.
And yes a bad woman is easy to find,
That also depends on your definition of bad.
It isn’t about who is right or who is wrong!
I’m sorry, you’re still the Dean of my heart,
I wish I am still the Head of your department,
Let’s make our marriage a lifetime school,
I know I failed the tests and the home work
But I am willing to make this home work.
