MOTHER
BY MAYOKUN ADELEYE
Her knees planted on the solid Rock,
Arms raised and stretched between thunderous claps,
Snapping her fingers to match the rhythm of wordless groans,
Her energy flows through syllables that command light into my world.
Her voice pierces through the void in my heart and fills every corner with love
She dialogues with God from a heart that houses faith and interprets the blueprint of the supreme one engraved on my skin.
As mother stands behind the scenes with God, she breathes the strength of the divine unto me,
So if the serpent strikes my heel, I’ve got the power to crush its head.
