Introduction

Nigerian banks sure charge unnecessary fees from your bank account. The most outrageous charge is the fraudulent “Card Maintenance Fees” by Nigerian banks.

Please how are you maintaining a card that is in my wallet?

Asides from bank maintenance charges of N52.50 Naira every month, of which they’ll still charge you 1,000 Naira if you lost the ATM or it expires, there are lots of other unnecessary bank charges like VAT, Account maintenance charges, SMS alert charges, Transfer charges, Postal Stamp Duty charges and Weekend charges.

Just go to the bank and ask for your statement of account, and you’ll be shocked.

Let’s do a little maths, dear friends.

According to NIBSS, as of December 2019, there were 63,085 daily Electronic Fund Transfers. At 52.50 Naira per transaction, that’s 3,311,962.5 Naira a day. And that’s 1,208,866,312.5 in a year and it’s coming from your 52 Naira bank charges. (You can click here to verify my claim)

Should this fraud continue?

No, I have a solution called PiggyVest!

Piggybank

PiggyVest gives you 10–12% p.a interest without any charge plus other bonuses and numerous earning features.

Piggy Vest is an app/platform that helps you save money little by little over a period of time and collect the money when you need it plus interest.

You may say I have a savings account. How many times have you ended up touching the money you intended to save in the account?

Moreover, your bank pays you a maximum of 4% interest which they will still collect ATM maintenance fees and other bank charges after which little or nothing is left for you as interest.

From the book: The Richest Man in Babylon by George S. Clason

The first law of Gold(Money) has it that: “Gold(Money) cometh gladly and in increasing quantity to any man who will put by not less than one-tenth of his earnings to create an estate for his future and that of his family”.

Thus saving at least one tenth of your income is a necessary if you must attain wealth.

Piggy Vest Features

PiggyVest tries to make you imbibe savings as a culture so that as your income alert just comes in, you can easily put away your savings before expenses start rising.

PiggyVest achieves this through the following features:

Investify

PiggyVest just added an investment feature where you can invest in agriculture, Transportation, production and industries right from the app.

Currently, there is an ongoing Rice farm investment where you invest a certain amount that will be used to farm rice and you will be paid back after 9 months with 30% interest.

PiggyVest

PiggyVest

It’ll remain open till the number of units available is all bought by interested PiggyVest users. Register now to get started and participate in investments like this.

Core Savings

On the App, You can select any amount of money you want to save; the money will be debited from your account and kept in a safe account until you are ready to use the money. You can also automate this with the auto-save feature.

You will set the days of withdrawal in a year. Withdrawal on any other day apart from the days you chose will attract a 5% charge. This is to help you maintain the saving culture.

Piggyvest

If you did not set your withdrawal option then Piggyvest will work with their default settings which only allow you to withdraw 4 times in a year.

  • 31st March
  • 30th June
  • 30th September
  • 31st December

The beauty of this is that as you are saving money, the interest of 10% will be accumulating on the savings.

Your money working for you, isn’t that cool?

Get started now!

Flex Dollar

Another interesting feature of the app where you can save dollars. You may ask: why do I have to save in dollars?

Well, look at the rate at which the US dollar is appreciating against our own Nigeria naira currency. Imagine saving at N360 for $1 and boom, the Naira to Dollars rate increases to N410 for $1 and you had saved $100. Just do the maths.

The good thing about this feature is that you can withdraw anytime you like. It doesn’t attract any withdrawal percentage like core savings. You can get in and get out of it by following the economic market.

Just like you are trading in bitcoin, or foreign exchange (forex).

Get started now!

Flex Naira

This is just like the flex dollar explained above but in Nigerian Naira currency.

This is the money you can save, accumulate interest on it and still withdraw any time you like without paying any charges like the core savings feature.

It’s cool, right? You don’t have to keep money in your account when you can use this feature.

Get started now!

Autosave

Piggy Vest can help you save periodically like daily, weekly or monthly. Imagine saving #200 daily, by month end you have #6,000 sitting somewhere waiting for you plus interest.

PiggyVest

If you continue like that, by end of the year, you will have about #72000. What a nice way to end the year.

Thus you select how much you want to save and select the frequency whether daily or weekly. If you don’t have money on a particular day, no worries. It will just skip that day.

Get started now!

Refer And Earn N1,000

Once you start benefiting from PiggyVest and you feel like talking about the benefits to your family and friends so that they can benefit too, PiggyVest will compensate you for that act of kindness.

PiggyVest

Piggy Bank also has a referral program which allows you to earn 1000 Naira when you referral You can also earn more money by referring friends and families to use PiggyVest.

Get started now!

Safelock

Sometimes you want to save money for a particular purpose like buying a new phone but after some time when hunger strikes, you discover you have eaten half of the money.

SafeLockenables you to lock away some part of your savings till a particular day so that you won’t have access to the money or be tempted to touch the money till that day and you will be paid up to 12% as interest.

PiggyVest

You can use safelock to lock 20k for your birthday in December 2020. Even if you’re broke in December 2020, you’ll still “ball hard” on your birthday.

Get started now!

Bonus Points

Asides from all the features mentioned above, Piggyvest also gives Points to users when they save a certain amount in their wallet.

PiggyVest

The more you save the more points your get which can be converted to cash for easy withdrawal.

  • For every N2000 to N4999 savings, you will earn 1 point
  • For Every N5000 to N9999, you will earn 2 points
