My water is about to break,
No wonder everywhere aches
They say “don’t pay attention to the pain,
It’s only going to make you insane”
But how can I sing
When everywhere stings.
The only lyrics my lungs
can produce
Are roars of my body being churned.
I know that hope is the bane of pain
So, I’m going to sing
of the joy that hope brings.
Can I get a gong to match my song, please?
a cello to overthrow the violent bellows of the pain
A flute to announce that my joy won’t become pain’s loot.
Get ready, I sing,
This too shall pass.
Even though my head swirls
And my stomach churns,
I will waltz through this valley.
I am God’s baby
And God is leading me,
Get ready for me
’cause when my water breaks
I will be breaking grounds.
