Once again, the Nigeria Hip hop industry is in shambo. For years now, Rappers have gone MIA and till date some are still ghosting. We’ve seen how Ice Prince, Phyno, Olamide blow up and then switch up while the rest rappers are bounced out of the Industry. To Most Nigeria Rappers, it’s a trend switching to the sound to save your name and to cover your face. It’s a new dawn in the Nigerian Hiphop Industry and it seems Nigerian rappers are back on the map. There’s a new trend in the Rap game and Manny vicious rapper are warming up especially after Blaqbones claimed he’s the Best Rapper In Africa.
The Self-aclaimed Best Rapper in Africa even went ahead dissing rappers in just one single track, BRIA. He sure knows what he’s asking for even though he might not get it if he doesn’t stay humble in these unripe days. While Nigerian Rap Legend, MI Abaga endorses him as the Lord of the King; It seems the Industry is once again moving in the dictates of a Rap game and as usual expect more beef, diss and even coupe.
The Big question: Is Blaqbones the Messiah of Nigerian Hip hop Industry? Or Is he just another Black Jesus? Well as time goes on we will find out.
How ever, it can never be denied now that the Nigeria Hip hip Industry is moving to a new era and who knows it might overhaul the Afro sounds banging in every clubs and streets corner. What I feel is: “Today’s rappers are scratching the surface and whatever they re doing is just a tip of the Iceberg of what is to come even though they may be raising the bars.”
