Super Heroes – A tribute to the Nigerian armed forces
Arise, O compatriots, Nigeria’s call obey
To serve our fatherland
With love and strength and faith
The labor of our heroes past
Shall never be in vain
To serve with heart and might
One nation bound in freedom, peace, and unity.
Oh God of creation, direct our noble cause
Guide our leaders right
Help our youth and truth to know
In love and honesty to grow
And living just and true
Great lofty heights attain
To build a nation where peace and justice shall reign.
It’s Christmas season.
A season of celebration, sharing and love.
‘Super heroes‘ brings to mind the likes of
Superficial characters like super man and
spider man with extra ordinary strength
And ability.
I beg to differ however,
Super heroes to me are those who display extraordinary bravery and sacrifice
In the face of extreme difficulty and challenges.
Thus, this write up in honour of the Nigerian armed forces
Who put their lives on the line to protect our fatherland.
Party, we will,
Celebrate, we will,
Let us however take a minute to be up on our feet to sing the National anthem
And observe a minute‘s silence in honour of fallen heroes on the battle field
And those currently on the battlefield
Without them, there wouldn’t be peace and thus no celebration.
I duff my cap in sincere admiration and respect.
Sincere gratitude to the Nigerian armed forces and their families.
