The Story – by Aderibigbe Inioluwa
My heart,
Oh! My soul,
I’m sorry, I hope you both forgive me,
I gave you out to Adam,
A man I thought would keep you safe,
From all ape,
I’m sorry! My heart,
He turned against you and bite you hard
As deep as Rottweiler’s,
He’s back as a surgeon,
Ready to operate the wound,
A wound of centuries,
Because a day with love is a minute,
A second without it is like decades,
Decades of sorrows,
I asked why?
But I knew, my hurting heart told me,
He wants to be a part of my victory,
And erase his name from the history,
He likes the glory,
But hates the story,
Don’t you worry, Adam
Chapters one to five were lovely,
I will remember them accordingly,
I’ll remember the last chapter too, weep
And tell my heart to sleep,
I rest my pen now,
As my heart speaks no more.
