People have started getting along
Others jugging into a relationship
I don’t have a guy or a girl
Is now one of our favorite lies.
Most of the girls and guys claim
To be Christians and Muslims
To shade off romantic affairs
But just like Eneke the wise bird
Since they have decided to hide
Under the disguise of religion
We’ve also decided to be religious
That was how I became a Muslim.
Men with plenty white beards
Women in their menopause
And I begin to wonder and wander
How where they also mobilized
Everybody is now showing off
There are those who run bottles
In Mami and those who buy
All the girls food just to impress
But there are also those who seat
Observe and eat from the rations
They serve, and that is where I
Solely don’t belong, but where
Do I really belong?
As the day passes by, our pains in
The river of suffering becomes
Belle deep as almost drowning
Yet they say we are not corpers
Our tails are too long though
Not the one in front but aback
Now it as been cut, we re now
corpers. Sleep was one of our
greatest challenges, the only time
I slept was in my lonely mind,
Paration and at Ease is now the
Song we sang to the Field.
Under the sun and in the rain
These soldiers are never tired
Drilling the hell out of our heavens.
There is no true lie in the world
What is accepted to one race
Is abominable to the other race
As the Igbo’s will always say
A child can only play with his
Mother’s breast but not
The manhood Of his father.
Indeed a Corper can only play
With the breast of his fellow
Corpers But not the manhood of
These Soldiers they are as fierce
As the roars of an African lion.
Enugu here I come!
