BOWEN WOVEN WORDS COMPETITION
(My Woven Words Secretary, Abimbola Ajewole)

(Mr Olumide Ajayi presenting My Woven Words and what Bowen Woven Words Competition was all about)
“Imagination gives birth to things unknown but the writer’s pen turns them into shapes and gives to them living breaths.” The necessity of writing can never be over emphasized, the importance of writing/online publication is one of the reasons why My Woven Words was created about sixteen months back.
Bowen University is an esteemed Citadel of knowledge owned by Nigerian Baptist Convention, this University is blessed with intellectually saturated students who also believe that; “the pen is mightier that the sword.” This common knowledge compelled myself and My Woven Words Team members to spearhead a “first-of-its-kind” writing competition where Bowenites will write about Bowen University. The University graciously approved the competition and provided support in every possible way which made it possible for Bowen-Woven-Words Competition to be a huge success.
I heartily and sincerely appreciate the unwavering support, and consistent hard work of “My Woven Words” team members who shouldered the responsibilities of organizing this “best-of-its-kind” writing competition when I had to leave school for my six months industrial training while the competition was still ongoing, starting from our able secretary; Ajewole ABIMBOLA (Pepe), Adigun OLUWASEYI (Prince Adx), Olumide MOSOPEFOLUWA, Shobowale TOLULOPE Enoch (Travis), Sabo GODIYA, Gandu GLORY, Ogunleye OLUWAKOREDE (Omo Baba Ogunleye), Akanbi HANNAH, Oyedele Moyinoluwa FOLUKE, Adegbite ARINOLA (Poet Arin), Oladele OLUWATOBILOBA Oluwole, Aderibigbe INIOLUWA Adetutu, Ajisafe King-Henry INIOLUWA, Dosunmu Lydia DAMILOJU, Babatunde ADEBOLA, Jeremiah NNADIKE, Umar FARIDA, Ologunde TOMIWA, Alake TOLUWANIMI, Atteh PETER, et al. I also appreciate our able editor, friend and English lecturer; Miss Adeleye MAYOKUN. A big thanks to Mr Andem for helping us in the decision making phase, you are highly appreciated sir.
I also acknowledge the support and advise of our Chief Advisor; Dr. Olufemi Oyelami, I can’t but recognize the donations and consistent support of my Mathematics Lecturer, big brother and friend; Mr. Olumide Ajayi. A big thanks to the university registrar; Dr. Ogunleye Oluwakayode, the school Librarian; Dr. T. A. Adigun, and The Bowen Baptist Student Fellowship (BBSF) for their generous donations.
A big shout out to all Bowenites, especially those that participated in the competition, you guys write impeccably. However, there is always an opportunity to improve your skills and also to display your write up for the whole world to see. My Woven Words is a platform with limitless opportunities, if you believe you have what it takes to belong to this family, you are mostly welcome.
Below are the three top best participants:
