MY MAN, MY PRECIOUS BEING – BY ADERIBIGBE INIOLUWA

Too many people, I have seen,
Both Adam and Eve,
Beautiful, charming, sweet,
Lovely to mingle with,
But Amidst them live snakes,
That cause nothing but aches,
The privilege only few people ever had,
I have been given,
A precious being I know of,
Adam he is in creation,
Innocent at heart, careful in action,
Blessed is the womb that bore thee,
Happy are the people that knoweth thee,
Moon and stars celebrated at thy birth,
Life is a lot hard,
With people we shouldn’t have had
The bitterness of life it is,
The serpent we knoweth not
But an hero I know of
Achilles of our time
Brave, smart, intelligent
His smile,
Could wipe away a thousand sorrow,
Animals crave to be humans,
To have a share of this man,
Nevertheless, I am a woman,
But I wish I was an angel,
Charming, gorgeous, flawless,
So perfect I could be for this man,
He created us all,
Luckily, this hero was specially moulded,
And given a unique breath of sweetness
Pure are his feelings,
Good are his thoughts,
I know of an hero,
Who has no ego,
Humility is virtue to him,
As life is nothing but a bin,
His happiness I’ll seek for,
His sorrows I’ll chase off,
Father, save thee from enemies,
And make thee without blemish
A poet, I am far from being
But at the touch of a rare feeling
A poet I have become
